Sisters of Hope

Into the soil they have fallen,
by the evil claws of death they were stolen,
on our earth they are never to be forgotten,
for through trials and tribulations they had risen.

Daughters of our land,
their efforts for freedom and equality as countless as the sand,
mothers of our nation,
women who lived a life filled with passion and devotion,
daughters of our land.

Female warriors
who fought against racial barriers;  Charlotte Maxeke;
Helen Joseph;
Lillian Ngoyi;
women who fought against oppression,
abafazi that stood up for the nation.

leaders and mothers.

Sisters of hope,
with the courage of lions and nerves of steel,
pioneers of freedom, sisters of hope!
